Nim2 is a minimalist, turn-based strategy game inspired by Nim, a combinatorial game famous among mathematicians. The rules are dead simple:

  • Start with a grid of stones.
  • On your turn, remove one or more stones—as many as you like, from anywhere along a single row or a single column. They don't need to be next to each other.
  • You and your opponent alternate turns until the grid is empty.
  • The player who takes the last stone wins.

Despite the simple rules, the game is quite hard to master. Play on small grids to get the hang of it, then when you're ready for a real challenge, scale up and thin the grid at random.

Play against a friend in hotseat mode or against the computer with bots of varying difficulty.
